Heartsong was first conceived in 2003 when owner, Melinda Chiew, struggled to find a truly special “Congratulations on your new baby” present for her friend who had just given birth to her first child. Melinda was stirred to create a new line of babywear that was distinctive and inspirational. After doing research into cotton production, Melinda became concerned about the poisons that conventional cotton introduced into the environment and human health. The name ‘Little Chipipi’ (pronounced ‘chipeepee’) comes from a wooden billycart our grandfather ‘parb’ made us when we were kids, and reminds me of a little piece of my childhood."
